Welcome to Let there be Peace!

A Reminder for Christians

Let's take a look at: John 20:19

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together,
with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among
them and said, "Peace be with you!"

After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples
were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me,
I am sending you."

And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them,
they are not forgiven."
----
Read John 12:44

Then Jesus cried out,
"When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the
one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me.
I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in
me should stay in darkness. "As for the person who hears my words
but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to
judge the world, but to save it.
There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my
words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.
For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me
commanded me what to say and how to say it.
I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just
what the Father has told me to say."

You see... Jesus was sent into this world not to judge, but as a light,
to save us from darkness, from eternal damnation. As His Father sent Him,
He is sending us to fulfill
that same mission.

We as followers of Jesus Christ are to follow the example He set for us.
Let's not judge one another, but instead let's be as a light for each other.

All of us gathered here have accepted Jesus Christ into our lives right?
So whether or not we agree with the way our brothers and sister in Christ
live, let us not pass judgement upon them. Let's not get tangled in darkness
because of "issues." Let's work on ourselves FIRST so that we may be the
light for eachother. Let's fellowship in love, peace and in truth. Let's try to
BE the example for them. If there is a teaching that you feel someone needs...
First pray about it, and then with guidance from the Holy Spirit meditate on
God's Word. This way whatever you write or speak, is just what the Father
wants you to write and speak. Ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten you before you
begin. So that there are no errors in your teaching and it will be solid and
complete.

Especially on the net, doctrinal issues can easily entangle us, keep your
focus on the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And remember leave
pride at the foot of the cross. It has no place in making peace.

In John 13:34 Jesus gave us a command.

Love one another as I have loved you. When He taught, he didn't teach in
anger, He said we MUST love one another. And by obeying that command
ALL MEN WILL KNOW THAT WE ARE HIS DISCIPLES! So no matter what you
feel is right, no matter what you feel is wrong, speak in love. If a fellow
believer fails to see the error in their ways, and you've done all you can do,
just let it go and give it to God! You have done what God wants you to do
and that was to shine your light on darkness for the truth to be seen.

You have planted the seed. Let the Holy Spirit do the rest. Jesus has left us
the Holy Spirit who will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and
righteousness and judgement. Don't take it personal when the message you were speaking didn't seem to have an impact on someone. You planted the seed let God do the rest.
Sometimes we may end up drowning the seed by trying too hard.

Jesus never argued with anyone about who He is and who God is. He simply
spoke truth, and it was up to the individual as to whether or not they would
receive that truth. If you feel the seed you planted landed on unreceptive soil,
bathe the situation and the person in prayer.

Jesus is the Word, He came so that we may know the truth, and for our own
good He had to go away. So He came, gave us the truth and went away.
But He didn't abandon us! He left us the Holy Spirit who will help us live out
HIS truth in peace.

If you just took the Pledge for Peace and sincerely prayed the
Prayer for Peace here's a lil graphic you can display on your website. This graphic represents that you have taken the first step to promote peace. Let's pray that others will strive to do the same. Many broken hearts can be mended and many relationships can be restored as long as we are willing to commit ourselves to walk in peace.
