Breaking Down Walls
From: Michelle
Here are my thoughts ...lol... I sort of got carried away and
wrote a poem too.
Ah but so good to be carried in Jesus!
Walls of Flesh
Gal 5:17
"For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and
these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye
would." |
Fleshly walls enclose and entrap. Before accepting
Christ as our Saviour, we were surrounded and enclosed by walls of sin (the flesh giving
in and seeking its own desires). But when Jesus entered our heart, this wall was
shattered from top to bottom. No longer does death and sin hold us as captives.
The enclosure of bondage is broken ("And the veil of the temple was rent in
twain from the top to the bottom" Mark 15:38).
Now we can step out side of these walls and breathe
in the clean and pure breath of Jesus. So we begin our walk with Jesus
..>> and then one day we realize that there is another wall -- maybe the
wall of hate or pride .. the wall of arrogance .. the wall of envy/covetness or
greed .. sexual immorality ... lying .. deceitfulness, etc. Since
Jesus has already shattered the wall of sin that held us captive, we may ask ourselves why
are these walls are not shattered too. Well, the truth is: the walls are
shattered and cannot hold us captive any longer, but we have a responsibility in
allowing Jesus to burn out these remaining pieces, and we must realize that we will always
battle these walls of flesh while in this fleshly body because the flesh sets itself
against the Spirit.
We need to understand that when we walked in sin and
death, many fleshly walls were erected in our hearts - our hearts were hard and cold to
the truths of God. Now our hearts are soft and pliable and the Holy Spirit daily purges us
of all that is unholy and unpure. So here's where our part comes in --->>>
we have to surrender these remaining fragments of the flesh to the work of the Holy
Spirit by refusing to think, dwell, or live inside their walls of bondage. Our
responsibility: submission to God's ways, walking upright, and renewing our
minds in truth.
Jesus is the bondage Breaker. He and He alone can
remove the logs, the splinters, and jagged edges of our hearts. We must let go of
anything that we are holding on to and give Him freedom to burn the rubbish that is left.
He will surely cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
Jesus
said: "Follow Me."
This poem is dedicated to our precious sister,
Robin for the sweet spirit that prevails from her
and the beautiful love that she has for Jesus.

Follow
Me
Let go of death's gravecloths
Commit yourself unto God
Allow the Holy Spirit to purge you
with His fiery staff and rod.
Unrobe yourself of all past things
in the present live and stand
Forgiven by the grace of God
let Jesus guide you by His hand.
All burdens gladly give to Him
Lie down in peaceful sleep
For what is left with God
He is ever able to keep.
Come out of fretfulness
Let go of worldly things
Receive the joy and gladness
that Christ desires to bring.
Lay aside the sins that trap
Give yourself to God above
Be enclosed by freedom
in Christ's redeeming blood.
(((hugs)))
